Getting Over The Storm went ten places lower then Silhouette and completely fell out of the charts the next week...

Face it, the promotion has been great, they're all over the tv and radio and they're doing pretty good.

But it is okay for Ali to lie about UB40 on national TV then is it?

Good to know where your moral compass is in all this.

npg all along you have defended his actions and tried to play down how crap he is doing yet trying to somehow use GOTS as some kind of marker against his terrible renditions of what he calls reggae. its fine if you like that rubbish but please stop trying to liken his music to ub40. there is no comparison even though he has this terrible memory thing where he still thinks he is UB40. . Your morals are very suspect

Face it, the promotion has been great, they're all over the tv and radio and they're doing pretty good.

Chart position alone doesn't tell the full story 'cause one week 10th place can mean 5000 sales, and the next week 10th place can mean 10000 sales.

However, if you think they're doing pretty good, then you're fooling yourself. With the amount of TV exposure they got, especially Jools Holland, it was expected that first week sales would be boosted. Their 5367 copies sold in first week sales is a total flop after TV exposure. Generally when one appears on national TV the week of album release, you'd expect a top 10 chart position and around 20000 sales at least.

So yes, the promotion has been great, they've managed to get themselves "all over the tv and radio" as you said, but that hasn't resulted in the expected album sales. More importantly, on the iTunes sales charts, they managed to only slip into the top 100 for a few days (in the 90s) and then out again. Those 5000 CDs he sold were all pre-orders and first day sales from his loyal fans, nobody else is buying it...

That's not doing pretty good...

amazing how some people and i mean a minority of people get excited over an ex singer that has totally lost all morals and a unhealthy vitriolic mentalty towards his old mates and BROTHERS is surely mentally unstable. maybe come the day of reckoning he may use insanity as his get out of jail card

No OL it is worse than that.

What NPG is saying is the contribution made by Robin, Earl, Jimmy, Brian and Norman over the last thirty five years in terms of creating music; writing the lyrics; horn arrangements, mixing; production work has no value.

He just can't bring himself to admit that.

you are correct Saad maybe ub40 s next album should be made up of a drum loop machine, Dunc using a triple vocal to add depth to the recorded sound and studio sounds as instruments and then flog themselves on every tv and radio station and every scum newspaper telling many lies about their old band mates and maybe call themselves another name that should sell 5000 copies.
