easy answer M.

this is UK singles. I'm sure shakey has shifted more singles than most in the UK.

But I doubt he could pull 20,000 in Samoa for a live gig. And I don't think he has sold many albums.

A lot of the artists on that list are famous in the UK only.

In the states, for instance, nobody will have ever heard of shakey, or even cliff for that matter.

Lucky States... Its rather shameful that the record buying public of the early 80s went out and purchased Shaky and his Green Door in droves. Bet they were the same folk who bought that bloody awful Grandma tune too

Don't see any other reggae artists on that list.....

and not trying to flatter but shouldering Beyonce considering her VERY wide appeal (She has an almost Micheal Jackson following in the Middle East, Africa and the Americas)...I think it is a very respectable place

Is it total number of singles or total number of top 40 hits, sorry maybe i did not read question, as top 40 hits i am sure UBs are top 10

I bought Shaky's 'Green Door' but I was only about 5 yrs old at the time! Thankfully my taste improved
