Default Another Cardiff Story

I bumped in to some workmates at the gig,2 train drivers called Sean and Dave. They are both top blokes.Sean is a massive live entertainment fan and goes to see loads of gigs, both music and comedy.Dave loves UB40 an reggae in general. He is actually a member on here but hasn't posted yet. When I see him next I'll get him to come on and say hello.
Dave still hasn't forgiven me for an incident that happened on the WYFF tour in 2005.We both work very complicated shift patterns and I was gutted to work out that I'd be working afternoons on the night,Dave,on the other hand, bought tickets on the first day they were on sale. Then about a week before the gig my shift pattern completely changed which meant I could go after all.I went to the box office and asked if they had tickets left. The lady looked at the computer and told me the gig was a sell out.As I walked away she called me back and said we've just had 2 cancellations this morning.THe tickets were in the front row!!!I saw Dave in our rest room that week and told him of my good fortune he (jokingly) called me all the b*****ds under the sun.Turns out although he bought his tickets on the first day they were on sale they were right at the back of the arena. We arranged to meet for a pint at the interval where I told him "I was going to come back to your seats for a chat but it was a bit far to walk".So fast forward to last Thursday's gig.I saw Dave, who had a brilliant seat in the front row of the balcony above Jimmy and Robin.I saw Sean during the SO set and told him I was lucky enough to be going backstage after the gig.Unknown to me Sean saw Dave and told him of my good fortune.During the 2nd half I felt a tap on my shoulder and there was Dave, laughing, and his lovely mrs.He said to me "You b*****d,you've done it again.I get the best seats in the house and I find out you're going backstage, you've topped me again".We were both in hysterics.
Btw,it was Dave's first gig with Duncan singing and he was well impressed.

PS

Because Sean goes to so many gigs he knows just about everyone who works at St David's Hall. This means he was able to secure the big UB40 poster that was outside on the night. He then made his way down to the front where he gave the poster and asked me to get an autograph for him.Brian was kind enough to sign it for me so now I have this fabulous momento of a great night which I now have to give back to Sean.

Quite right Dean.It wasn't so much the incidents themselves,it's the chance to wind him up for months afterwards that I relish.

Tom, I have no connections in Cardiff but I managed to get hold of a poster too, same size as the one Dave gave you, which hadn't been out in the rain

You really all do know each other up there don't you?
