Hi everyone! I finally decided to join this forum last night after catching up for a few months on what UB40 has been doing the past 6 years. I'll tell a little about myself.

I got into reggae music when I was 14 (I'm 40 now) and have loved the music ever since. I've heard of UB40 since 1985 and became a fan in 1986. Labour of Love was the first UB40 album I owned and bought it a year before "Red Red Wine" hit #1 in America. Thoughout the late 80's and all through the 90's I continued to listen to reggae music, buy a few more UB40 albums, and albums by other reggae artists.

Around the turn of the millenium I didn't listen to reggae music on a regular basis since I got involved in other kinds of music and hobbies. I didn't know until recently that Ali and Mickey left the band. I did take time to listen to and watch on Youtube some of Ali's solo music and he still sounds great after all these years. I'm glad that he decided to continue to perform reggae music and I wish him luck with his solo career. Glad to see that Mickey has been supporting him as a back-up musician.

I've watching some footage of UB40 concerts from 2008 to present. I think Duncan sings just as well as his brothers. I'm still getting used to hearing Duncan's voice as the new lead vocalist for the band. It puts a smile on my face when I see Astro, Earl, or Norman take the mic because they can still sing good and it reminds me of the UB40 "good old days".

I especially want to thank Brian for posting videos on this forum of the band traveling on the road, backstage, and doing rehearsals. I've really enjoyed watching them and I think Brian has a great sense of humor.

I hope I will enjoy this forum as much as many others here, I'm happy to be here.
Hi sis and welcome, just to put you in the pic, aldi sounds more nasally and gruff now, no longer the sweet soft soulful smooth voice he once had, amazing what studio techs can do to voices, listen to his live solo and hear what he sounds like, it aint good also he has not got robin to carry him. Mw your duncan part, you are accustomed to aldi singing the usual hits so of course it will sound different, listen to lol4 and hear dunc in he's full glory, also ub40 done a signing off tour 2 years ago and those tracks suited dunc much better than they do aldi because he has a much more soulful voice than aldi who to be honest had griped on me for years when the guys played the older tunes live. Duncan is much more natural and does not try to hard to impress, duncan we love ,aldi he aint thank god
