Default sorry for bringing it up

Members of UB40 I know all the talk seems to revolve around the other defectors but I would like to know this. How on earth do they get so much publicity on all the media, radio, papers and now the National lottery with potentially an audience of millions. It really is quite annoying when our band UB40 seems to get very little. What kind of management does he have that has such a massive influence and get the sort of exposure that I would love our boys to have. It seems quite frustrating.

In fact if anything, it publicises the UB40 name as they keep using it

.....it's quite funny really......

...while the real UB40 band are having the time of their life being wined and dineed in Miami and relaxing beautiful lush islands ....playing to loving packed arenas ...... in preparation for their ....SOLD OUT tour

...... the other 3 stooges are tiring themselves out..... trawling round advertising UB40...

Brilliant response Farida. your spot on. His recent campaign has been an abject failure. His record has sold very little, not much over 5,000 copies. His appearances on TV have put people off rather than attracted them, and his record sales aren't much over a paltry 5 thousand.

It pisses us off too that he gets so much TV. But in todays celeb obsessed media, and love of negativity and gossip, he's playing their game.

His new management have invested in a decent PR company, but it is all too little too late. The record is dropped out of the charts. So, really, it's all over.

We've never been much good at playing the tabloid game.

UB40 have never been the type of band to move down to london to be seen at the right parties and events. We're a working band that keep our audience by touring and playing great shows. it worked then, and it's still working now.

It's annoying to see his strained, bottoxed face on TV, lying about his brothers and comparing himself to BOB MARLEY !!!! But it hasn't down him an ounce of good. If anything it's put people off.

The london media aren't interested in UB40. We don't fit into todays celeb obsessed mainstream media.

That audience of millions doesn't include REAL ub40 fans, who are more likely to get their information from more alternative sources, like on line, and of course word of mouth. Which is a much better way of building interest. But with that you have to actually deliver with the music, turn people on and their own enthusiasm will spread the word. And appearance on the lottery show or alan tichmarsh isn't going to save anyones career.

Aldi doesn't give a shit about REAL UB40 fans, he's just trying to appeal to people who only know RRW. But that was all in the past. In this days a UB40 album could sell any thing from 2 to 10 MILLION. But those kind of numbers don't exist for anyone any more.

If he had taken this opportunity to really promote his own name and his own music, then maybe he could booked himself a modest winter tour. But with all this confusion he spins when your not quite sure if it's UB40, or aldi, or the band has reunited because it's not exactly clear. If seeing him on the lottery show does encourage people to want to see a live show, then they will end up buying tickets to seer US. Dumb dumb dumb.

We couldn't get much TV exposure to promote our tour and records.

What aldi had done is promote UB40.

Thank you very much !!!

Just gotta soak it up OL. can't see much more happening. Hie record is dead. didn't even do as well as most of his other solo efforts. It's hasn't caught fire and propelled back up the charts. Too little too late.

when we start our british tour it'll all be forgotten.

"WE NEVER BEEN MUCH GOOD AT PLAYING THE TABLOID GAME"

"WERE A WORKING BAND THAT KEEP OUR AUDIENCE BY TOURING AND PLAYING GREAT SHOWS,IT WORKED THEN AND IS STILL WORKING NOW"

LOVE THIS JIM!!!

This I what I always loved about UB40, they always seemed to be a faceless band, hardly heard of in the media, they just went about there business and let the music do the talking!

COOL AS FOOK!!
