Default RIP Sir JOHN HOLT

Monumental sadness at the passing of one of Jamaicas greatest and most influential artists.

A fantastic singer and songwriter and a true gent.

Forever missed and never forgotten!!

Had the privilege to see John Holt perform twice. He engaged with the audience so well, singing any song anyone wanted. My wife still remembers the moment he sang Stealing and I went nuts! In my opinion one of, if not the, most talented singer and songwriter to come out of Jamaica...very sad....but lets remember his huge catalog of music and great memories they are entwined with

Hi Robin,
Mr. Holt certainly won't be forgotten. Just one great song after the next. His legacy lives on. The tributes that keep pouring in online alone show this. One of my favorite tracks of his is The Pillow. It's one of my favorites on the Fathers Of Reggae Album. What was it like to work with him?
Thanks,
Bagga...

One more note, we were supposed to see John Holt this past summer at Sierra Nevada World Music Festival (SNWMF). He was going to perform with U-Roy but could not come due to a medical issue. Very sad to have missed him then, but very glad he was here on earth to make such great music for all to enjoy.

I remember a live John Holt show years ago, I was dancing and holding on to my wife, I looked to the side of me and there was another guy and his wife (who I didn't know) doing the same, swaying to music, we both had tears in our eyes and both quickly tried to cover up the fact that we did, we both laughed about it on the way out but it was a magical moment that I will never forget.
