Default We're all in it together. Part. . . .whatever.

The Tories talk about being the party of home ownership. There are about 7 million people in the uk who own there home outright who have done very well from osbournes housing bubble.

They also like to crow about their "help to buy" scheme. Trumpeting the fact that 100,000 people have been helped because of it.

Unfortunately the stats tell a very different story.

Since the coalition came to power a HALF A MILLION people have disappeared from the market because houses are unaffordable. So, by helping some people to buy there own house (with a socialist- style underwriting using tax payers money to make sure the banks don't lose out when repossession time comes), thus pushing up the price, they have consigned 400,000 people to never owning there own home.

During the same period the rental sector grew by 600,000.

So the people who have done ok under this government are house owners without a mortgage (mainly Tory voters), and the rentier class (again, mainly Tory voters).

Who said the Tories always look after their own ??????

on a slightly different but similar subject, ive watched 2 shows,,,
about the benefit cap and council houses etc in the london borough of brent, and because of the benefits cap, they wont pay the housing benefit for rents, some of which is around 350 quid a week for a 2-3 bed flat,
anyway the people who cant afford it, have been shipped out the capital, having to relocate to places like b;ham..

the crux of the problem and many others for that matter, is the actual cost of the rent, regardless if your working or claiming benefit, its massively high, yet nothing is done about it, also the people from brent, stuck in a city they dont want to be, means less housing for local bham people, so where do they go, stoke, and stoke people go,,,etc etc.. where will it end, 6 million people living on the shetland islands...the cost of rents is even stopping people who want to buy from saving a deposit to actually buy a bloody house, the whole thing is utter madness... tho several mp's earnt a fair few quid in rents from the h/b system....
a clue perhaps, i wonder what maria miller thinks?

Utter madness is right mr GF. IDS claimed that a benefit cap would bring down rents. That was bollox. And help to buy increased demand without increasing supply. Inevitably pushing up prices.

And the REALLY crazy part is people are being moved from London to places like Birmingham, but they end up in bed and breakfast accommodation, which costs MORE than the rent they were paying in the first place !!!

But I bet the Tory who owns the B&B is quids in of course.

It's fill-yer-boots time for the rentier class. Which a majority of Tory (and quite a few labour too) MP'S are part of, are making a packet from inflated rents.

Suppose they have to make extra money somewhere now their expenses are under greater scrutiny.

I watched the same programs MrC talked about ....it is shameful what is happening... and the councils ....like any public sector ...they are being pushed to work with...and deliver ... vile new laws passed by unfeeling clones

It is better than winning the lottery but anyone can win the lottery, an MP however requires :

1) A self contented smugness
2) Never done a days work
3) Wee stashes of lots of money made from lots of other people
4) An narscicisstic lack of empathy .....

Sure did comrade. From banker to rentier class. Neither job is any benefit to society, and their buy to let business is just exploiting people who have been priced out of the housing market. And hiding money offshore. They are all at it. Hypocrites.
