With the imminent release of the Deluxe albums (I'm very excited by the way) the question is "what about UB44"? In many ways probably the most enigmatic of the UB40 albums, I've been long hoping for a restored and updated release.

I think I heard that many of the original masters for this album are missing, hence why they had to be rerecorded for the Fathers album. Maybe this is why? Would be great to have it re-released with tracks from the same sessions such as the dub version of "Piper calls the tune".

We could even request a hologram on the front

Awesome news! A bit out of sync but sounds like great news anyway. I thought seeing as 'I've got mine' and 'Dubmobile' made the LOL release then maybe UB44 wasn't in the pipeline. Fingers crossed!

Given the great job you and Matt did on PA and LOL '44 and GM will be excellent too Normie

OMD fans are really worked up about the Junk Culture Deluxe edition just out:

Universal to repress OMD deluxe CD | superdeluxeedition

Maybe they should have asked you to do it

Saad, I checked the track times of the new UB40 releases (on iTunes so far) and Universal did NOT fade any of the tunes on Present Arms or Labour of Love! Good job. Still missing some of the songs (Suffering with Nya & Natty and Don't Let It Pass You By 7" single version).

The Signing Off re-release was also missing the actual single versions of King and Food For Thought which differ from the album, and there are two more versions of 25% (Bouncing In The Red and Monster Club versions) that could have been included. I think a "deluxe" edition never includes all versions?
