Jen I have no doubt whatsoever that the money raised will go straight to the children of Hope Village, I asked Marietjie what was needed the most,and that was what she answered: money. I think its not my business to ask what the extra costs are but I also know, call it a gutfeeling, that Marietjie is genuine, and honest. I'm sure the Loonies want their money, donations to the auction to get straight to the children and provide them with the things they need food, clothing, sports stuff etc.

Never thought that way, J A friend of my son's promotes festivals and concerts in Perth (One festival had Pendulum, Mos Def, Public Enemy, Subfocus, Noisia). It cost him A WHOLE LOTTA money to make money. Some promoters go into debt to TRY to make money.

For Hope Village, I imagine an unexpected cost was going from one concert to three with only a couple of months planning.

More than the concerts making money, I think the AWARENESS brought by UB40 will reap ongoing opportunities for years to come.
