What has happened here in the past days has been atrocious. Terrorism is cowardice. A father woke up and had breakfast with his family, that night he came home with a son who was tragically killed by a bomb, his daughter lost a limb and his wife is in critical condition with possible brain damage. Bostonians are an extremely resilient people. Terrorism interrupted our lives, but it does'nt control us. We are a sports town and are known for it. Our biggest competition is the New York Yankees (baseball) and they all stood up and sang "Sweet Caroline" the official anthem of the Boston Red Sox, as well as the Cleveland Indians to show support for Boston. We are greatful for all of the well wishers who have come to our aid in a time of need. 3 dead, 18 lost limbs and over 178 (last count) injured. My prayers are with the thousand of people who are suffering, and the familys who have lost a loved one.

I was in Boston exactly ten years ago, to see my husband run the Marathon. We, his friends and family, were waiting for him at the finish line, near the spot where the the attached happened. I remember the security was quite good, with multiple check points around Newbury street. Everybody who wanted to get close to the final mile had to go through security first, with bag searches, etc. If that was still in place, I don't know how anyone could get two heavy pressure cookers through. There must have been a gap somewhere, obviously.
Boston is a great city, tough people. It will come out of it even stronger than it has been. And so will the Marathon, I'm confident of it. Lots of love to all my friends in Boston. Stay safe, stay strong and stay happy!

UPDATE: They have the suspects on the run. Suspect #1 is dead following a shootout with police Suspect #2 is still on the run. All public transportation in Boston and surrounding areas has been suspended. Both are reportedly Brothers 19 and 20 years old. Both are said to be from Chechnya. One MIT (University) police officer is dead, and another MBTA Police officer has been wounded. I just hope that the other suspect is found alive so that they can figure out why they killed so many innocent people. I am sorry that I posted this on the bands BB, I should have posted it on General area, but I am just so enraged at this time.

Hi Steven,
Boston is a really nice city and I too am shocked and shaken by these terrible events. It has been an incredibly tragic and disturbing week on this side of the pond. Hang tight in the meantime man. Prayers and all the best to you and the resilience of the people there. Peace, Bagga... |
