Default Another lovely review from Manchester Metro

Just wanted to let everyone see Manchester Metro says UB were ace so thats good news from Manchester.

WE CANT HELP FALLING IN LOVE WITH U AGAIN
Any apprehension about seeing UB40 minus frontman Ali Campbell was thankfully, unfounded.
Since his shock departurefrom the band at the beginning of last year, Ali's position centre stage has been seamlessly filled for the Labour of Love tour with another Campbell brother, Duncan.
Saturday's show was kicked off by 1980s reggae star Eddy Grant, who clearly warranted his own show rather than settling for second best as a support act.
The partially filled MEN Arena was transformed into a carnival as the audience helped Grant belt out his most famous hits including Electric Avenue and Gimme Hope Jo' Anna.
All eyes were soon on UB40's new vocalist, Duncan, and his voice did not disappoint, in fact it is eerily indistinguishable from that of his brother.
Ali's name was not uttered during the performance and Duncan didnt speak to the audience once, leaving the small talk to brother Robing, but when it really came down to business, Duncan really pulled it out of the bag.
He nailed Red Red Wine, Kingston Town and I Cant Help Falling in Love With You - all classics, but tunes Ali had made his own.
A few numbers from forthcoming album Labour of Love4 proved the band have not lost their touch but it was the songs from the endless back catalogue that got the audience on their feet.
Cherry oh Baby, Wear you to the Ball, Sweet Sensation and Johnny Too Bad are all testament to the fact that 30 Years on UB40 are quite rightly still up there as one of the worlds most celebrated reggae bands.

What a lovely true review and that Manchester will be happy to see the boys back again

Now that was a much truer review of last Saturday, except that I wouldn't have called it partially full - that makes it sound as if it was half empty! In fact I would say it was at least 85% full. Also the atmosphere in there was buzzin once the lights went down and the music started.
