Default UB40 Internet Domains

After the recent revelation of ahem...UB40.org, I had a quick poke round to see what UB40 domain names are still available for purchase, and see who currently has any registered....

UB40.co.uk registered to Dep International, Digbeth...

UB40.org registered to Dirk Ochotzki, Denmark
UB40.org.uk registered to Leon Deakin, Solihull

A few others there, but not getting any info back, and there are a few available for purchase at 8 quid for 2 years!

Shame someone never thought about snapping these up before they got into the hands of the wrong sort of people

question about a domain name:

is the .com = commercial website, .edu = educational facility website, and .org = not for profit website?

how does that work?

As far as I know, .org is just for any organization. Doesn't have to be not for profit. The .edu one is pretty strict...has to be educational....but .org is kinda like .com and .net sites, they can pretty much be bought up and used by anybody, or any company.

I was thinking about the domain name and a good way of getting the message out there would be a release with the title UB40. could be a download for dub sessions 4 and/or some unreleased tracks. The other future release title could be called "No I'm Sparticus"

From what I know you can actually buy any domain name that is available.
The only difference seems to be the price. Dot com appears to be more expensive for example.
I have one which is .org.uk and cost 7 quid for 2 years. If I wanted the .com one it would be in the hundreds. ..seems to be about supply and demand in terms of cost
