Is this for real, or is there some sub plot going on????

BBC News - UB40 Corn Exchange gig draws complaints about loud music

"Music at a UB40 concert was so loud it was "altering heart rhythms" and caused a fan's ear to bleed, it has been claimed".

A bit OTT I would say, I was there right near the speakers and my heart was in rhythm with the music. Call me suspicious but smell a rat in the kitchen .....

Personally speaking if I had any ailments that would be affected by loud music I wouldn't have gone to a live concert ..... perish the thought that I would ever have any such ailments

'Ear plugs were available' ???

What is the blooming point? Personally I NEED to feel the bass in my heart - for me that is what reggae music is all about.......

Just my humble opinion

Load of ole tosh

This made me chuckle. I thought it might be a bad review but all news is good news and I would imagine it would show everyone reading this that the band have still got what it takes to be a bit rebellious. If the point was to create disharmony I can definitely say it has backfired. This made one of BBC websites most read stories of the day.

Isn't the whole point of music to alter your heartbeat? Relaxing music makes you feel relaxed, dance music makes you dance. All reggae should be loud and bassy...that's the point of it!

As I stated on Facebook, not only does her name seem familiar to me (I'm positive that I have defended the band to her on the UB40 page) but to me there's only two reasons why she would be doing it:

1. Ali is letting her hang out with him for her negative reviews; or

2. She thinks she's going to get monetary compensation for it (which will be impossible as she went to a concert with a pre-existing issue and did not take precautions).

OR

Maybe its one of Ali's personalities..I suppose we shouldn't be mocking the mentality ill...

A bad review wouldn't make the news, however a story about bleeding ears does. However there's no negative issues related to this story, in summary the story is "reggae legends music is still loud, bassy and takes no victims"

What do some people expect ? Karaoke ? We'll leave that to our ex-singer and his singalong cover version show.

Ub40 are a big band and we make a BIG sound. I can see how that would be a bit much for those of a more delicate disposition. But I would imagine 99.9 percent of the audience are there BECAUSE we are big and loud.
