Default Astro's Departure - let's be grown up it.......

The band members have a right to express their anger as it affects their lives directly.

We don't.

Surely if somebody wants to express their anger, they do have a right?

As long as people aren't making comments based on naivety or half baked facts, and presenting things fairly respectfully and logically, then I don't see what the problem is.

Theres nothing like a departure to bring home a mix of personal reactions onto one forum.

And theres always someone dictating how people should react/feel about it.

I dont miss this board.

Unfortunately Anant, that's exactly what people do... and that's the problem. We don't know the nitty gritty, it's actually none of our business, therefore, it's all plain speculation, gossip and invective. Yes, I was very guilty of that when wotshisface left, but then many of us have since spoken to the band about *that* at length.

This is a very new, very raw situation and people's knee jerk reactions, particularly those who haven't been on the BB in forever, really aren't something the remaining band members need to be aware of, either tonight or any other night.

Absolutely fair enough. And it's very difficult to say too much of value because we're unaware of what has happened 'behind the scenes'. But what I try to do, and I hope others do, is to evaluate the facts that we're aware of, and clearly distinguish when you are not aware of a particular facet of the discussion.

That way, it's possible to logically express yourself and have fair, amicable discussions.

Fair and amicable; I don't see an awful lot of that on balance. Debate is one thing, bitch fest another. There's many things I could say/could have said over the past however long but I've learned to bite my tongue if I can't say it constructively. However, I will be at that cathedral tomorrow night come what may.

No, just that we should be measured in our comments at a time when emotions are raw...........
