Agree, wished Virgin/EMI would at least put more effort in all those re-releases. I mean it is great that some of the CD's are back in the stores but most UB40 fans already have all these songs. I guess they are targeting a new market? Or at least trying? Something must go well as they keep releasing more and more in different countries.

A bit of research would have been better though, and maybe asking the band for some input. It's a laugh (almost insult) to put UB40 with Afrika Bambaataa on the sleeve, or that bad photo (2nd choice) of the band from 1988/89. C'mon EMI!

Then for the fans EMI could do a bit more also. No need to invest much as most of the tracks have been remastered anyway. Release the albums with some of the b-sides and extended versions. Or release some of the long form videos finally on dvd (or bluray). Or release the videos as video-on-demand (even no need to design a sleeve, do product distribution, all digital). Many song videos are still unreleased. How about "The Collection 2", long due?

My two cents (One a penny... two a penny),
Joris

what you gotta ask yourself is ... do you really need another boxset when you have all the songs anyway !?

Guess these new compilations are aimed at a different market not those who have most of the songs

....if there are new CDs out......

...they could grab the attention of new fans.... ...who follow what is new from EMI .....or those who go in on weekends just browsing.....whose parents might have been fans......who have only heard the mainstream songs ......

...or those fans from the eighties and nineties who have been interupted by life .......

...or even old fans who just like the idea of getting a new cellophaned CD with a different order of songs on it....

Kind of think that it cannot do any harm .......in fact may be quite good
