So. The coalition government claims that they could not just sit back and watch a humanitarian disaster unfold in Libya. That is why they decided to try and get rid of gadaffi. cameron has been compelled to stand 'shoulder-to-shoulder with the forces of freedom' against the dictator.

meanwhile Syria is in lock-down. No foreign journalists are allowed in, and the security forces have opened fire on the demonstrators. Killing dozens. The head of saudi security forces sends a letter to regional security heads telling them that they MUST use LIVE ammunition on any demonstrators. And in Bahrain the minority sunni's still rule with an iron fist over the majority shia's. The brits have already intervened in Bahrain. training their security forces in crowd control. So much for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the forces of freedom.

funny thing is, the 'new middle-east spring' that has been a spontaneous coalition of the middle classes, the poor, and students. That sprang up as a result of social networking sites doesn't really apply to Libya. That's more like civil war with historical rivalries.

The freedom demonstrators haven't actually had any support from our government. exactly the opposite. When it first went off in egypt cameron went off to sell arms and riot control equipment to the saudi's [where women aren't allowed to drive, or even go out of their houses without a chaperone]. That's our government real meaning when they say they support freedom. they support the freedom of oil-rich dictators to suppress their populations.

hypocrites ????

it's not about freedom. It's about oil.
