Black Uhuru. Absolutely brilliant songs, with Sly and Robbie holding everything down.Plus I was in love with Puma Jones when I was 16, so there.;)

Oops - didn't see them so I voted for 'other'. Bah.

Hard to choose so think it would have to be Ken Boothe, reason' Crying Over You was the first reggae single I owned and his voice has always stood out, each record so pure and simple, outstanding reggae artist.

Bob Marley - grew up listening to Bob Marley & The Wailers and have every album.

Ken Boothe - gorgeous, gorgeous singing. I love 'Just another girl' and 'Crying over you'.

I also like listening to Wailing Souls, Alborosie and Third World ('Now that we found love' is one of my happy songs).

There's heaps I like but I love UB40 the best :-)

I voted "other" mostly because there are so many great reggae acts out there I can't choose one.

Bagga and I saw Gregory Isaacs last week. What an amazing show!

Really hard question.
I would have to go for Robert Nesta Marley purley because of the amount of quality music he put out from 1962 until 1981 when he died.
Loved his ska, rock steady, roots & he even penned a few neat poppy tunes that the masses could doo daa dee along to...
His greatest work for me was with Bunny & Peter with Lee Perry at the controls.

Nizzy,
I saw them live in thier pomp backed by Sly & Robbie and they were a very solid act. Loved 'Sinsemilla' & 'Red', both great albums.

If I had to choose only one, it would have to be Bob Marley as his music was the first I heard that got me into reggae
