Villa and Torres will be unstoppable.

Also Cassilas and Raina, two great keepers

Right next to the 'why bother looking' switch Fi.

Is that the knob right next to the "because I fkn felt like it" button?

JB40

Right under the 'if you know what the subject is, don't f**king moan about it' control !!

JB40

it's a bit like gate-crashing 'weight watchers' and complaining that everyone is fat

San Diego
25th March 2010, 09:27 PM
I do that too.... It's fun, isn't it??

I especially like stuffing my face with cream puffs as they weigh in and trying to mutter encouraging things like, "oh don't worry Muffy, a one pound gain is nothing compared to Marilyns 20"

JB40
25th March 2010, 09:52 PM
Do you shout 'The nearest you lot get to fruit is a chocolate Orange!' ?

San Diego
25th March 2010, 09:59 PM
No... I'm much more subtle, I might say something like:

"g'wan... peddle, another hour and you'll have worked off that carrot stick"

JB40
25th March 2010, 10:03 PM
I've always found 'EAT A CARROT YOU FAT F**K !!' tends to hit the spot.

How about 'Jeez ! your shadow must weigh 300 pounds !!'

San Diego

San Diego
26th March 2010, 12:12 AM

Me: He's on my side

spain must be one of the favourites, quality throughout the squad, tiks right they usually bottle it, and i think a lot of people expected them to do the same last year, but they played to their potential, so they have a chance but i don't think its often that a team from europe has won the wold cup outside their own continent if ever, argentina have to be in with a chance with players like messi and tevez
england wont win it, because they simply aren't good enough, they always bang on about how they (think) they're one of the best teams in the world and can beat anyone, but the fact is they can do it in friendlies, qualifying and group stage (given favourable fixtures/opposition) but when it comes to the games that really matter ie quality opposition the majority of the time they're simply not good enough to progress any further

loekie
26th March 2010, 04:57 PM
don't think it's gonna be a European country that is gonna win. So my bets are on Brazil

JB40
26th March 2010, 05:17 PM
When the going gets tough, England always twitch.

If you remember, last time players like Lampard and Gerrard didn't manage to get the ball between the posts and below the crossbar during the penalty shoot out.!

FATHER TED2
30th March 2010, 05:40 PM
That seems to be the general opinion. Don't think I'd disagree either. Why do they bother?

because they're successful in friendlies and moderately easy qualifying groups, that then makes them think they're one of the best teams in the world, but instead of concentrating on getting on with performing consistantly, the first chance they get they always bang on about how they can beat anyone in the world on their day, have to be considered as genuine contenders because of the quality in the squad, because its their time etc etc, but they always inevitably buckle at the first sign of quality professional opposition

Starshine007

I'm with you Anant. They were a different class in the European cup last year.

That is why they ain't going to win the world cup, trust me on this, they never did well in the world cup, italy will be a strong contender ( as always), argentine will be a favourite (messi). I honestly believe england is going to do well (why?). Because they are very hungry for a good result. Germany will be one of the favourites (as always) . Brazil not i think, they are going a bit downhill, france neither, holland has a strong offence, but the dutch defence isn't really good, so i don't think holland will be a winner.

In other words, i can't choose a winner, i hope holland though, because they always play attacking footy, i hate the italian way (defensive), but i wouldn't have a problen if england wins it (why?). Because the premier league is the most exiting league in the world, and believe me, i follow germany, spain, italy, holland, france etc., so i know what i'm talking about

Yeah Nes.I remember 1977 when they beat England 2-1 at Wembley and the fans dismantled the stadium.A couple of years ago there was a documentary on about the game.Mick Mills,England captain on the day, said as the two teams emerged from the tunnel the only thing he could smell was whisky.Scots made up about 80% of the crowd.I wouldn't mind betting that there's a piece of Wembley turf in Bernie's back garden.:-)
