Boss Sounds, the UK?s biggest reggae festival returns for its third year, brings together many of the greats from reggaes golden age?

Having been promoting reggae in Newcastle for the past two years Boss Sounds is proud to announce its return. The 2007 Boss Sounds festival will launch on the 23rd - 25th November, bringing the world?s greatest names in reggae to Newcastle Gateshead. The festival promoted by Newcastle?s ?Jumpin Hot Club?, is held in association with Trojan Records who continue to celebrate their 40th Anniversary.

Reggae?s massive heritage will be highly celebrated through the profile artists in this year?s impressive line up. Headliners will include the likes of the king of Ska Prince Buster, the legendary Sir John Holt, king of ska, pop reggae pioneer, Ken Boothe, plus Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Alcapone. The pioneering force behind the rise of Caribbean music, Ernest Ranglin will also appear, as well as Max Romeo whose ?Chase The Devil? wowed dance music fans around the world when The Prodigy repurposed it for their hit ?Outer Space?. Dancehall king Eek-A-Mouse is also on the bill, plus a special appearance from Massive Attack?s Daddy G and stormers of the last two year?s events, Trojan Sound System, alongside Radio 1 and Bestival?s reggae champion, Rob Da Bank?

Over the weekend expect to see other activities around the festival and venues. These include Jamaican food nights at local cafes and exclusive photographic exhibitions from photographers such as Dennis Morris and Mark Henderson, a Teesside based photographer, whose vibrant images depict multicultural and diverse activity. His work from the last two year?s Boss Sounds will be featured here.

Newcastle is a cultural capital, hosting a series of world-class festivals and events promoted in the northeast, including Boss Sounds. Over the past three years many have been seen to travel far and wide to Boss Sounds, making Newcastle Gateshead the only place to be for reggae lovers. A great place to stay for the weekend for accommodation go to www.newcastlegateshead/bosssounds or telephone 09066806805 for a free accommodation service.

Yeah, they've out done themselves again. I went last year and it was a fantastic weekend....Prince Buster, Horace Andy, janet Kay, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Lee Perry, Jimmy Cliff, Dennis Bovel and Pama Intl :D

I thought that was hard to top, but they've pulled together a fantastic weekend again this year. Well worth a trip. Newcastle is a great party town. Love it!
