View Full Version : Reloading the BB

Hiya.....It seems I have to click reload if I want to read new posts to a topic I've already read. For example....if I come back later to see a reply to this post, I'll see nothing but what I've written. I'll click reload and there will be the replys to my post. Is this a personal problem http://www.ub40.co.uk/ubb/lol.gif or can you help sort it out?

i dont think it is a personal problem i have the same thing and i read a topic from some other person who had the same problem. maybe it is because this bb is still new and some problems have to be solved still. For now i think we just have to deal with it.

You can fix this problem by changing one of the settings in your internet options. the only thing is that this can slow down you internet browsing. To change the setting follow the steps bellow.

1. from the tools menu select internet options
2. click on settings under temporary internett files
3. click on on every visit to the page
4. click ok
5. click ok

Thanks for the info. I'm using Netscape so I'll try the equivalent of it on there.
Now, one more thing....how come when I click on a topic, it goes through the motions and then it says done, but the page is empty? Am I not alone in that as well?

Hi Helina,

Sorry I've not been near a computer since Thurdsay. Instructions for you for setting Netscape to refresh pages:

> Go to 'edit' menu

> Select 'preferences'

> a window should open with a category list on the left hand side. Near the bottom of the list is an item called 'Advanced', click on the '+' sign next to it so that it has a '-' next to it & three options below it.

> Click on the option 'cache'

> near the bottom on the right hand side of the window will be the statement 'Document in cache is compared to document on network:'. this will have 3 options below. Click on the option 'Every Time' so that the circle next to it is filled.

> Click OK

This should be okay now. Let me know how you get on.

Adam, I already had the cache set at 'every time'......so I guess I'm s.o.l.? http://www.ub40.co.uk/ubb/aagh.gif
But with the old bb....I didn't have this problem, so there MUST be a way.....I hope...
Hopefully you have another trick up your sleeve???
