Tha rampant lion badge is used by quite a few clubs altho Villa are the oldest club and were the first. I dont think we can lay claim to the badge however.

Hey reza hows things?
sorry to disapoint ya but Glasgow rangers were formed in 1872..and Aston villa was 1874..And in 1867 the first ever football club was founded it was called..Queens park F.C a scotish club..They used to play the freindly games between England and Scotland as scotland never had an international team then..
Hope that clears a few things up there..

The Rampent lion is the national flag of Scotland along with St andrews flag. The Badge and moto were used 2 years before aston villa were ever heared of as a mark of pride for scotland..and Queens park fc is the oldest club in football history ..nots county was formed in 1862 stevie you are right mate but there were a lot of english clubs around that time..but they played cricket..rugby ect but the football was played with different rules..

Rossy,

Aston Villa Cricket Club were formed long before our football team did in 1874. The footie team started when one Sir William McGregor, a Scot decide that the cricket lads needed to keep fit during the winter and formed the football team.
The rampant lion badge was used way back already for the cricket team so yes, Rangers may have been the first footie team to use it but the Rampant Villa Lion was around long before. If you saw my original post i did say that we wont lay claim to the badge.

Interesting i thought however totally insignificant 125 years later me thinks!

Take care and well done to you Liverpool team who are cup specialists this year.
