While i'm looking out over a rainy Glasgow following the biggest breakfast ever (only in Scotland do you get porridge with whisky for breakfast followed by haggis with your full english), i thought i would write one or two words about last nights gig.
This is definitely the fursthest i've ever travelled to see a band. I know that puts me to shame one here has some people have followed them around the world, but still, think the furthest i've been before is Southampton or london i think. So it was with great excitement that me and Luce flew up yesterday, arriving just in time to have a few pre gig drinks, after having lined our stomachs at Frankie and Bennies back in Birmingham Airport. Didn't see any loonies before gig as there was a huge que and i imagine they were somewhere near the front seeing as we later spotted everyone right on front row against barrier. We managed to secure ourselves a little raised platform that gave us a perfect view. Then the lights went out, band came on stage and i watched one of my favourite ub gigs ever. It was my first ub gig in ages and ages, possibly even for a year so i had been having serious withdrawal symptoms. The set list was brilliant. I had no idea what it was in advance, so was completely surprised when each song began. Not sure if i should name too many songs on here but there were 4 or 5 newbies and the rest were classics from back in the day, and not all your obvious hits either. Highlights for me were Watchdogs and Don't Let is Pass You By. Don't worry i won't name anymore. The band looked really tight and seemed to really enjoy it. I think i've said this every gig but genuinely, Duncan was the best i've ever seen him. Not only was his voice on top form but he was dancing around the stage for the entire gig. I thought the venue was great and the security were fab. I've frequently been to gigs where the security have almost spoiled it for everyone by being wankers. Last night they were brilliant. All too soon it was over, and we cracked open another bottle of bubbly. Had a lovely rest of evening drinking and chatting. Finally crawled into bed at 1:00ish and went out like a light. Woke up this morning eager to get to another gig. Going to brave the weather in a minute to have a mooch round town before flying home this afteroon. we've had so much fun ![]()

As i recall from Robin and "he who shall not be named,s" biography the band have always had a good rapport with the Glasgow security types ever since the day they stood up to them when they were going to beat up one of the Pretenders for gobbing off and kicking one of them during a gig

Just one thing i forgot to mention was the crowd. Everyone in the room was having a ball and the band had them eating out the palm of their hand. Even the new stuff which is usually more appealling to the loonie type fans went down a storm and had everyone dancing.
