Default Spotlight on Gail

A UBloonie is spotlighted. Answer all the questions, and post.. then subtract the last question, add one of your own, and under a new topic YOU spotlight a person of your choice (no one from the band or Reflex)..

Where was the first UB40 album you bought?

Who is your favourite member of UB40, and why?

If you could ask any of the band a question, what would it be?

What makes you happy?

What about your family? Tell us a bit about them..

Are you attending any shows or have you already this year?

What would be your top five songs to hear UB40 perform live?

What makes you sad?

What time did you get up this morning, and who was the first person you spoke to?

Other than UB40, what is your favourite band?

What is your fav UB song.. what memories does it invoke?

Have you ever witnessed a crime?

What does going to a UB40 gig mean to you?

Pick your next victim..... and start a new thread, and change the last question.

She's at work, you'll have to wait a few more hours.

Signing Off (the minute I heard this new band)

Who is your favourite member of UB40, and why?
This is a difficult one, how can you have a favourite band member. They are all special in their own way, after all, together they make magic happen. If push comes to shove it has to be Earlie B at the moment, for giving certain individuals a fit of the giggles in May. I want more than one person though.

If you could ask any of the band a question, what would it be?
This is a question to all of them, seeing as I've had to listen to a certain individual indoors about our flight home in Dec, and how it's all doom and gloom. Do any of the band dislike flying and what do they do to get over their fear?

What makes you happy?
Knowing that everyone is healthy at home.

What about your family? Tell us a bit about them..
I'm the youngest of 3, with 2 sisters. I've been married to Dave for 10 years and moved to a sleepy town on the south western coast of Florida from London, which was and still is sometimes a very big culture shock. We don't have any children, does a black lab/retriever count? I have a wonderful niece and nephew who I dote on, they really are the apple of my eye.

Are you attending any shows or have you already this year?
I've had the privelage of seeing the boys 3 times in FL this year. Thankfully being so far away from home, the man takes it forgranted I'm off to play when the boys are this side of the pond. Work commitments permitting. I'm really looking forward to seeing the boys in their home town at Christmas, perfect, Christmas at home with the family and seeing the boys it couldn't get much better.

What would be your top five songs to hear UB40 perform live?
I have to say this, please don't groan, RRW is a must, even if it drives you mad, you only have to look behind you at the crowd when it's sung, the place just rocks every time. Kingston Town because it reminds me of my sister. Guilty I've always loved this one. Here We Go Again I think it's so catchy and last but not least, maybe a strange choice Strange Fruit. Anything will work for me, give me some bass and brass and I'm a happy chappy.

What makes you sad?
Being so far away from home, purely selfish I know, sorry

What time did you get up this morning, and who was the first person you spoke to?
8am, the first person I spoke to was Dave dying from 'man flu' bless him

Other than UB40, what is your favourite band?
I love Luther Vandross, soul, motown, reggae etc, and I'm happy

What is your fav UB song.. what memories does it invoke?
Has to be Kingston Town, it pulls at my heart strings, I immediately see one of my sisters blubbering away like an idiot.
Can I have Guns in the Ghetto
Blimey come to think of it, if Dave had a penny for every time I said "I Love THIS one!!" he'd be a rich man

Have you ever witnessed a crime?
I've heard one........... we live in a very quiet street, or did until a house was rented out to people who were selling drugs. I heard gun fire one Saturday night around 3am, got Dave up because I wasn't sure what it was. He went outside to find someone lying across the street shot. Thankfully he was going to be OK. Finally the police were able to do something about the renters, our little street is back to being safe and sound again.

What does going to a UB40 gig mean to you?
It's a time when I can forget the 'real' world and play for a few days. See an amazing band who I have followed throughout my adult life, it's very special for me. Ofcourse not forgetting the run up which includes, total stress, excitement, stress again, excitement and the roller coaster of emotions. OK I'm beside myself, drive myself and anyone around me off their head.

Pick your next victim..... and start a new thread, and change the last question.[

Sorry it took me so long, and now I've rambled on as usual
