exactly bruno.

I have to admit, i've never liked country music. But working on this record has opened my eyes.

I noticed, when this was first discussed, that generally the country tracks that were talked about were the ones that had mainstream success. Songs like D.I.V.O.R.C.E., or 'stand by your man'. So I can understand some people's reaction. I would feel the same.

But judging the music like that would be like judging reggae only by the tracks that hit the charts. There have been some great songs that have crossed over, but I think most people would agree that the real treasures of reggae music lie elsewhere. Some of you may have even discovered this music as a result of hearing UB40, and that stimulated your curiosity to find out more.

It's a good thing I don't need to have any knowledge of the music. My job is to play reggae, that won't change [whatever the song we are working on]. And the ambition is to make the best reggae record we possibly can. Which is the same for every record we've ever made.

...and that why "reggae wha' m'love an' that's wha' m'deffend"

what makes UB40 so original , experimenting and delivering reggae music.
