Belfast Last Night

Havn't posted in a while

Have to agree with Carolanne, the Belfast concert was amazing!! I took my husband and 2 kids age 13 and 9 my eldest boy has autism, they both love UB like me...they don't have a choice lol but we all had an excellent night, we were soooo impressed with Duncan, he is brilliant and have to say its one of the best UB concerts i've ever been too...and i've been to loads lol. My wee lad danced and sang all night, great to see.

We had a bit of a bad experience in the last Dublin concert several dirty looks and snide coments on bringing my 2 kids who just love UB...why shouldn't I! But I wouldn't let it put me off and we had the best time ever...it more than made up for it.

Eddie Grant was brilliant too just an all round awesome concert, well done UB!!

Glad you and your family enjoyed last night Kazza and you didn't have rude comments about taking the kids, people can be soo horrible

What can I say about last night? I suppose I should start at the beginning - Marg and I had a VERY late night in Dublin and around 4 hours sleep but she still managed to drive us to Belfast in horrendous weather. I was chief map reader and yes Marg I am better than a sat nav

We arrived in Belfast around lunchtime, had a dreadful time giving the hire car back in the soaking rain but got to our hotel around 2pm. We met up with Jen then took a stroll round Belfast before collapsing somewhere comfy for a while

Eventually we made our way to the venue, had some much needed food then started the queue at 5.30pm, soon to be joined by a few other people.

There was no rushing inside, we casually strolled along to the front and got comfy. Another sterling set by Eddy Grant while the venue filled up and our boys took the stage around 9pm.

The stage was still a bit high for me but I had a better view than in Dublin so I was a happy enough bunny. "Technical hitch" aside we enjoyed the gig, the crowd wasn't as manic as in Dublin and the only time there was a bit of shoving was in RRW. I will confess to jabbing some girl with my elbow in one of the encore songs (a new one). Why she chose that moment to try to speak with RBC escapes me. She might not have wanted to listen/dance but I did ... so she was dispatched

All too soon the show was over and it was time to be hustled outside. We hung round chatting for a while before making our way to the hotel for a "relaxed" evening catching up with most of the rest of the Loonies. Bedtime? Well I dunno why we bothered, we got back to our hotel around 5.30 this morning. I was up at 8.30, Marg was already up and dressed. We will pay for it tonight but I wouldn't have missed a moment of the last few days.

Big thanks to all the people we met along the way, loonies, non-loonies you were all great and special thanks to the band and crew. See you again in a week, hope you enjoyed your wee boat trip today

Looks like the tour has started with a bang!
Great to see you posting Kazza- and dont worry what people think- you had a great time, and that is what matters.. All the bands kids have been to loads of concerts- I dont see why it should be any different for yours?
Get them started young, I say!
